Suriya's '24' Has Been Postponed, Gets a New Release Date!

Suriya's upcoming science fiction thriller, 24, being directed by Vikram Kumar ofYavarum Nalam fame will not hit theatres on the auspicious day of Pongal festival next year as reported earlier. The much awaited flick has been postponed, thanks to its extensive CG works.
The latest report has it that 24 will be released in April 2016 (most preferably on April 14th which marks the Tamil New Year). The culprit behind the movie's delay is said to be its time-consuming CG works.
The team headed by Vikram Kumar wants to make sure that the film houses some high quality visual effects and thus, is in no mood to leave any stone unturned, pertaining to the movie's graphics.
With the shooting done and dusted, the post production works have already begun and is expected to go on until March, 2016. 24 has Suriya, Samantha and Nithya Menon playing the lead roles.
The movie will receive its musical contribution from AR Rahman and the album is expected to be made available from January, next year.
