The Beep song controversy has reached a peak, and actor Simbu who has crooned that song is out of reach of police for more than a week.

Now, actor turned politician Sarathkumar has come to the rescue of Simbu, and has released a statement claiming that "Simbu was victimised by someone who wants to degrade Simbu's cinema career".

Sarath Kumar the former Nadigar Sangam President, also asked everyone to forgive Simbu and place a full-stop for the controversy.

Anirudh to compose for Prashanth's "26"

Actor Prashanth whose comeback film "Saahasam" is yet to hit the theaters, and the actor will be featuring next in the Tamil remake of Bollywood film 'Special 26' which had Akshay kumar, Kaajal Aggarwal in lead.

The remake version has been titled as "26" and popular actors like Prakashraj, Thambi Ramaiah, Robo Shankar, Simran, Devayani will be playing significant roles.

Young composer Anirudh has now been roped in as the music director for this film which will be made simultaneously in all the four southern languages.

Car Crash! Actress Jothirmayi escapes with Minor injuries

Malayalam actress Jothirmayi, who has also acted in few Tamil films, has faced a car crash in Kunhipally National Highway near Mahe, while travelling with her husband Amal Neerad. Both have suffered minor injuries, and were immediately provided medical aid.

As per the reports, their car has collided with a bus, causing injuries to the couple. This accident has completely blocked the road and police has helped the couple get out of the ruckus.

Later they have continued their journey on another vehicle. It is to remember that Jothimayi and Amal have got married last April.

Breather for Simbu! Gets support from Political Parties & Men's Associations

Actor Simbu's Beep Song has created a storm in Tamilnadu, and numerous Women Welfare associations have raised voices against the derogatory words used by the actor in the song. Police have filed FIR against him, and there are chances that Simbu may get arrested soon.

Though Simbu's family members have justified that the song wasn't released officially, and it a song which has been made with dummy lyrics.

Now, Simbu is getting support from Men Welfare Associations, who have condemned the act of everyone who has over-reacted to this leaked song. Also, the actor is getting some support from Shiv Sena (Political Party) who have accused the Nadigar Sangam for not supporting him due to religious differences.

The President, Gen-Secretary, Treasurer, 2 vice Presidents, 4 Joint Secretaries and 14 Executive Committee Members will be elected by polls.

Out of 1340 members, 705 have casted their votes in the elections. Counting has started at 6 PM and results have been announced.

Sivan Sreenivasan who has got 73 votes more than the runner-up Ravi Varma, has been elected as the President of the ‘Chinnathirai Nadigar Sangam’ .

Actor Suriya invests in Online Movie Business

Chennai-based HeroTalkies, an entertainment start-up offering legal, online streaming of Tamil Movies, has raised its investment from Actor Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and a group of High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs).

2D Entertainment, started in 2014, has produced some acclaimed films like 36 Vayadhinilae and Pasanga 2. Their forthcoming ventures include big releases like 24.

Suriya sees this as a strategic investment into the online movie streaming business. “As a forward-looking organization we are keen on exploring several partnerships that expand our existing portfolio in the entertainment industry. With movies moving towards digitization it was a logical step to bring into our fold an online streaming platform”, said Mr. Rajsekar Pandian, CEO of 2D Entertainment.

“Aathi and I are really excited to welcome our new investors. To have someone like Suriya not just endorse but invest in us is a big shot in the arm. The faith shown by them is a huge concept validation. We see exciting times ahead”, said Mr. Pradeep V S, Co-Founder & CEO of HeroTalkies.

A significant portion of the investment raised will be diverted towards content and customer acquisition across different geographies. This will augment the company’s vision of building an efficient alternative of movie distribution other than movie theatres thus eliminating piracy in the process.

Jayam Ravi's Bhooloham swooped into cinema halls throughout Tamil Nadu on 24th December (Thursday) after it was postponed several times, prior to its release. Now that the movie has hit the big screen, it's time to analyze its box office collections.

While the official collections is yet to be revealed by the makers of Bhooloham, it can be said that the movie will end up collecting close to 10 Crore rupees from Tamil Nadu alone, from its opening weekend (first four days).

It is also guestimated that the film will collect close to 70 Lakh rupees in Chennai from its first four days, based on the theatre occupancy on the first day and inputs from trade analysts.

Bhooloham has Jayam Ravi playing a boxer from North Chennai. While Kalyanakrishnan has helmed the project, Viswanathan Ravichandran of Aascar Film Pvt. Ltd has bankrolled it.

The movie also stars Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj and Ponvannan in prominent roles.

Thangamagan does good business

Dhanush's Thangamagan, which has released last friday has opened with mixed reviews among the viewers and critics. This family entertainer film directed byVelraj, has reportedly grossed around 6 crore rupees in the opening day, and is expected to surge in the weekend. The second day collection reports are yet to be revealed.

CONFIRMED: Akshay Kumar In Enthiran 2, Rajinikanth's Get-up Revealed!

We had earlier informed you that Hindi star Akshay Kumar might replace Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the villain in Rajinikanth's upcoming flick Enthiran 2. Now, the same has been confirmed from sources close to the project.

Also, a picture taken during the first day shoot of Enthiran 2 has Akshay posing with the cast and crew of the high budget sci-fi thriller, which is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

What the photo also reveals is Rajinikanth's get-up for the movie. Going by his looks, it looks like the superstar is reprising his character Vaseegaran - the role of a scientist who creates 'Chitti' the robot in the prequel (Enthiran).

The 1 minute 40 seconds trailer suggests that Madhavan's character in the movie might have shades of grey. A troubled boxing coach, who seems to have a problem in keeping his emotions in check with the ladies, combines to form a rather interesting trailer.

Thanga Magan Actor Adith Opens Up About Dhanush & His Negative Role In The Movie!

Actor Adith, who will be seen essaying a pivotal role in forthcoming Tamil entertainerThanga Magan, says that actors who work with Dhanush get incredible exposure and reach.

"Even if I were to pay money to work in the film, I wouldn't have missed the opportunity. Actors who work in Dhanush's films get lot of exposure and reach, which you rarely get anywhere else," Adith told IANS.

He plays Dhanush's cousin in the film, which is directed by R Velraj. It also features Amy Jackson and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in important roles.

"It's a lovely story about two cousins. I play a character with negative shades," said Adith, and clarified that his role can't be described as the antagonist.

"It's not a typical Dhanush film with a villain. I've always craved to do good roles and it didn't matter whether I was playing the lead or not. This is a family drama with quintessential elements required to appeal to the masses," he said.

Having starred in lead roles so far in Tamil and Telugu films such as Inidhu Inidhu,Katha and Weekend Love, Adith is joining the big league with Thanga Magan.

OFFICIAL: The Massive Budget Of Enthiran 2 & Its Release Date Revealed By Lyca Productions!

Not long ago, we had revealed that the total budget of Rajinikanth's magnum opusEnthiran 2, might be around a whopping 400 Crore rupees.

In a stunning revelation, the producers of the upcoming sci-fi thriller, have divulged the massive budget of Enthiran 2. According to a report from IndiaGlitz, the production cost alone is expected to be around 350 Crore rupees, Lyca has said.

Add to that the post production charges and Enthiran 2 might easily fall under the 400 to 450 Crore budget category, as reported by us earlier.

Interestingly, the makers are very confident of retrieving such a huge amount since both Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar (two prominent Indian stars) have been roped in, successfully.

What more, the producers of 2.0 have also revealed that they are hoping to release the film in the summer of 2017.

However, knowing Shankar's style of film-making and with over 350 Crores riding on this project, it shouldn't be a surprise if the film gets a release date in the year 2018 or even, perhaps the following year.
