After tension sprang up early in the morning, Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Puli was subsequently released all over the world on October 1st amidst much anticipation from fans and movie buffs. Though the movie received mixed reviews, its box office collections could write a different script.
Thanks to its pre-release hype, Puli is expected to have a massive opening in Tamil Nadu (which it achieved on the first two days). If it manages to do exactly that throughout the weekend, it shouldn't come across as a surprise.
Since Puli has the obvious advantage of a long opening weekend, it should be able to amass huge amount of money in India. In Tamil Nadu, since most of the theatres had given away tickets for the first two days, good box office collection is rather inevitable.
In Chennai alone, Puli is expected to collect close to 2.2 crores from its four day opening weekend. When it comes to the whole of Tamil Nadu, the Vijay starrer might collect close to an impressive 16.5 crore rupees.
Puli might have a good opening weekend in its neighbouring states as well, according to trade experts. In Kerala, many theatres flashed the house full board throughout the opening day (Thursday).
