Vikram's 10 Endrathukulla (10EK) Trailer Review: It Looks Fresh And Amazing!

Vikram's 10 Endrathukulla (10 EK) official trailer has been released amid high expectations as the teaser had so much to offer. Well the trailer sure packs a punch and has almost everything in it to satisfy Tamil movie buffs and also Vikram fans.
First things first, the 1 minute 46 seconds trailer has enough in it to let the audience know what the movie is all about. Vikram apparently plays a car driver (Chennai's best driver) and Samantha plays a bad driver and the story is a journey involving these two characters.
Apart from revealing the flick's plot, the neatly cut trailer is packed with action. Car stunts showcased in the video exemplifies the fact that this flick has benefited from all the valuable inputs provided by international Formula One (F1) drivers like Narain Karthikeyan and Lewis Hamilton. The visual quality looks amazing as well. Credit goes to its cinematographer KMB for coming up with such sleek shots. Surely, this movie has to be one of the best Tamil flicks (along the lines of I), considering its cinematography alone.
Dialogues too are intriguing and funny all at the same time. Watch out for the closing line from Samantha. Overall, 10 Endrathukulla trailer looks amazing and is one of the best in recent times.

Top 10 Things To Expect From Vijay's Puli!

With less than a week to go for Vijay's Puli  to pounce its way into more than 3000 screens all over the world, expectations are soaring high from fans and movie buffs and rightly so, as the hype surrounding this fantasy flick is almost larger than life.
Puli (U): Book Your Tickets Right Away!
Thanks to some brilliantly showcased visual effects (especially in the second trailer), expectations of movie goers have almost doubled. The reason behind it? When was the last time you saw such high end graphics in an Indian film? Let alone Tamil cinema.
Touted to be a Tamil fantasy film like never seen before, Puli  promises to be a visual treat and that would be the first thing anyone would expect, walking into the theatre come October 1st.
Also, given the film's ingenious casting, Chimbu Deven would've been aware that Vijay fans alone will not be sauntering into cinema halls to catch Puli. Hence, adequate screen space for performers like Sridevi and Sudeep will also be in the expectations list of many.
If you are still confused on what to expect from this much anticipated film, fret not, for we haven't even scratched the surface of the true purpose of this article.

Eetti official trailer

Confirmed: Thala Ajith's Vedhalam Gets A Release Date!

A reliable source has confirmed that public relations (PR) from the USA distributors have revealed that Thala Ajith's Vedhalam will be released on November 11th as speculated earlier.
Even the film's official page of a certain social media platform has claimed thatVedhalam will have its worldwide release on November 11th.
The much anticipated film was shot at a brisk pace in a bid to present Vedhalam as a Diwali treat to all Ajith fans and movie buffs. It now looks like the team has achieved what they initially set out for.
However, a few contradictory reports have claimed that the Ajith starrer might not be released on November 11th even though the festival of lights starts from that very day.
Instead, Vedhalam might have its release date on November 12th as the film's producer AM Rathnam will look to release the movie on a Thursday as he is an ardent devotee of Sai Baba.
Even though the makers of the film have not officially announced the release date, it could be said that Vedhalam will be released around this year's Diwali.

Exciting This! Vijay & Sridevi To Fight Against Each Other In Puli?

Apart from all the fantasy elements like a talking turtle, a brutal giant and lilliputs, if there is one other thing that will excite all movie goers on October 1st, it is a possible sword fight between Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Sridevi in Puli.
Puli (Hindi) (U): Book Your Tickets Right Away!
Yes, the latest still from the much anticipated flick suggests that Vijay might take on Sridevi in a sword fight that takes place inside the palace.
Going by the surprised look in Vijay's face, it looks like Sridevi draws out her sword (a move that comes across as a surprise to everyone) to engage in a duel with Vijay.
Perhaps, Vijay throws an open challenge at the court of Sridevi's palace, inviting anyone to participate in a sword fight, only to be surprised after learning that the queen herself has accepted his challenge?
Sridevi's expression too indicates the same and it evinces a strong message. Having said that, it remains to be seen what the scene is actually all about when the film finally makes it to the silver screen this Thursday (October 1st).

Kamal Haasan Breaks His 56 Year Old Ethics To Help AIDS Patients

If the grapevine is to be believed, actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan will, for the first time in his career, endorse textile showroom brand, Pothys. An advertisement for the same may be shot here in Chennai this week.

"Actor-photographer Krishna will shoot this video in a special set. It will be a two-minute long advertisement and is likely to go on air very soon," a source from the production team told IANS.
In a career spanning over five decades, Mr. Haasan has never endorsed a brand. It is said that his change of mind came in a bid to help patients suffering from AIDS.
The Vishwaroopam actor will be donating his remuneration acquired from the advertisement to help inpatients, especially kids fighting the deadly virus. It is to be noted that not long ago, Kamal's daughter Shruti Haasan endorsed Pothys' boutique showroom.
The 60-year-old actor currently awaits the release of his Tamil-Telugu bilingual neo-noir crime thriller Thoonga Vanam. The upcoming film stars Prakash Raj, Trisha, Kishore, Asha Sharath and Sampath Raj in key roles.

Hollywood Director Applauds Maya, Will The Nayantara Starrer Be Remade In English?

Nayantara's recently released horror flick, Maya, not only did manage to impress Indian critics and filmmakers but has also found itself a place in the list of Eric England's 'highly recommended films'. Eric is a Hollywood director with films likeMadison County and Contracted under his belt.
Maya (U/A): Book Your Tickets Right Away!

Thanks to Kunal Rajan, the sound designer who had worked in Kamal Haasan'sUttama Villain, Eric now has a fair idea on Tamil cinema. The American director-producer-writer took to his Facebook page to express his thoughts about Maya.
"I recently had the chance to sit in a theater and view MAYA, a stunningly beautiful and haunting new film from that part of the world (India) that really impressed me with it's solid acting, beautiful photography and incredible sound/score".
What more, he went on to recommend the movie to his fans and American movie goers, he wrote, "If you're not familiar with the films from that part of the world, or are interested in seeing a new style of storytelling, I highly recommend seeking this film out and treating yourself. It's a unique experience, both in the way of storytelling and in the presentation, and it's in theaters right now".

Maya Movie Review & Rating: This Horror Flick Is A Class Apart!

Maya, featuring Nayantara and Aari of Nedunchaalai  fame has been released amid decent anticipation as it promised an efficient horror show before its release. HasMaya lived up to its expectations? Continue reading our movie review to unlock the answer.

Maya (U/A): Book Your Tickets Right Away!

Maya Plot:

Aari works for a print media and is assigned a horror series. While working on it, one particular episode involving an old mental institution inside the forest of Mayavanam fascinates him and his friend, played by Amzath Khan.
Since the episode they are working on is based on a book which claims that the story of a certain Maya Matthews is true, Aari and his friend dwell deep into the story, hoping that the subject they are handling is nothing more than a mere fiction.
On the other hand, Nayantara's life is narrated. She is an actress and a single mother with serious financial crunch. How is her life connected with the character named Maya Matthews forms the crux of this fascinating story.

Performances:

The film has countable characters and each of them have come up with laudable performances. As expected, Nayantara delivers yet another powerful act.
When I say powerful, it doesn't mean shouting one's lungs out or showcasing fear to a great extent. Of course, Maya comes with such gimmicks, but what will impress horror lovers the most is Nayantara's restrained acting, for her character demands it.

Technicalities:

With names like Ron Ethan Yohaan and Sathyan Sooryan, I did not expect much in the technical department. But Maya turns out to be a technical marvel.
Ron Ethan Yohaan's background score not only spooks you but also makes sure you are barely seated, right from the word go.
Sathyan Sooryan's cinematography is fresh as the cameraman has avoided the usual angles used in a horror flick and yet manages to impress by evoking fear.
TS Suresh's editing has played an important role in Maya. His sharp as well as smart cuts might make your heart skip a beat at places.

Overall View:

Maya cannot be categorized with some of the other Tamil horror flicks that released in the recent past. This film's sole intention is to scare you and the debutant director Ashwin Saravanan has managed to do that pretty convincingly.
Check out the slides below to know more about Maya with interesting stills:

Trisha Illana Nayanthara Movie Review & Rating: A Brave Attempt Indeed

Trisha Illana Nayanthara managed to stir curiosity right from the word go. So what exactly does this adult comedy has to offer? Continue reading our movie review to know.
Trisha Illana Nayantara (A): Book Your Tickets Right Away!

Trisha Illana Nayanthara Plot:

GV Prakash is one lucky chap as he shares his birthday with two girls, born in the same area. They all celebrate their birthday together and grow up in each other's company.
Eventually, GV Prakash falls in love with one of the girls, played by Anandhi. But thanks to GV Prakash's lecherous nature and his inability to keep his secrets within himself, Anandhi breaks up with him.
Following the break up, his attention turns toward the other girl, played by Manisha Yadav, who is exactly opposite to his first girlfriend. As it turns out, GV Prakash finds her modernity too hot to handle, which leads to their break up.
Whom the film's protagonist finally ends up with forms the rest of the story which has been narrated with loads of adult comedy that might leave you covering your face, should you decide to watch this entertainer with your family.

Performances:

GV Prakash has managed to surprise one and all with his performance in this film. His image suits the role perfectly and the musician turned actor has bettered his performance from his previous flick.
While Manisha Yadav looks slightly unconvincing, Anandhi might've already proved a point by choosing a script like Trisha Illana Nayanthara and the girl's performance looks pretty natural as well.

Technicalities:

Director Adhik Ravichandran's gutsy attempt deserves a mention. Trisha Illana Nayanthara is one of the boldest films of Tamil cinema, for it reminds you of movies like American Pie and The Hangover.
Having said that, this film suffers when it comes to its screenplay. The first half is draggy at places and might make you glance at your watch a couple of times.
What works throughout is the movie's intrepid dialogues. While GV Prakash's background score is catchy enough to keep you interested, Richard M Nathan's cinematography is as colorful as it can get. In fact, it's too much to handle at places.

Overall View:

Overall, Trisha Illana Nayanthara has lived up to its pre-release reputation of being the boldest film of this generation. Also, such an experimental flick in Tamil cinema is a rarity.

How Did Ma.Ka.Pa. Anand Become Superstar Rajinikanth In A Day?

With fans eagerly gobbling up any news pertaining to important movies, sayRajinikanth's Kabali  for instance, even the most irrelevant or utterly false news can sometimes arrest the attention of many. The latest such report made many believe that Ma Ka Pa Anand is actually Superstar Rajinikanth.
Just a few days ago, the picture of a man posing himself under the cloak of a joker was leaked in various social networking platforms. Soon after, a flurry of reports claiming that the still is a leaked image from the photo shoot of Kabali  convinced many of the unthinkable.
After everyone had believed that they might witness the Enthiran star in a joker avatar in Kabali, contradictory communiqué cleared the air by revealing that the man in the picture is none other than Ma Ka Pa Anand of television fame, according to a report.
Ma Ka Pa Anand who featured in the movie Vanavarayan Vallavarayan later went on to confirm that some of his designers might've leaked the picture in which he is almost unrecognizable, according to reports.
It is also said that the RJ turned VJ turned actor was quietly happy about the dramatic event as many had perceived him as Rajinikanth, who happens to be his role model.

Has Superstar Rajinikanth Decided To Become A Character Actor Post Enthiran 2?

When the first time fans and movie goers were made known that South India's biggest Superstar will portray himself as an aged person in his upcoming movieKabali, there were mixed responses and reactions.

While some said Rajinikanth's bold decision came at just the right time, few others expressed their anxiety, fearing that their favourite star might not run around trees, chasing young girls anymore.
It's not that Rajinikanth has not portrayed such a character on-screen before, but this time around, situations have changed some. With back to back box office failures, the king of Tamil cinema had to do something different which gave rise toKabali.
Not long ago, many might've thought that the Enthiran star might not star in a non-commercial flick. But his decision to join hands with Pa Ranjith (a director who says he doesn't know to direct a commercial film) raised a few eyebrows alright.
This particular choice of movie and the way Rajinikanth is about to get showcased inKabali  might have a deeper meaning to it.
Has the Superstar decided to deviate from his usual norms to do variety of roles? Will he be seen in character roles post Enthiran 2? Perhaps, that might be the idea.

Human Rights Commission orders probe into minor's rape in wasington

wasington: Human Rights Commission today ordered a probe into the alleged gangrape of a five-year-old girl who is in a crticial condition at a hospital in Sikar.
Taking cognisance of the case, Chairperson of the Commission H R Kudi ordered an enquiry into the incident and he, along with Inspector General Sunil Dutt, today visited the hospital where the girl is admitted and met her family members."It was a very horrific incident and appropriate legal action will be taken against public servants who were found guilty of mishandling the case," Kudi told PTI.
"As per the reports, police did not take prompt action to search the missing girl and there was delay in registering the FIR. Her mother went from one police station to another police station in search of the girl and then for registering the FIR when she found the girl in an injured state. This is shocking.
"There was also negligence on part of the hospital in Sikar in starting treatment of the girl. All these aspects will be covered under the investigation. If necessary, FIR would be registered against the responsible public servants," he said.
The girl was allegedly gangraped by two persons near Kalyan circle in Sikar on Thursday night. The victim was sleeping with her mother and siblings on roadside when the accused took her away and gangraped her before abandoning her near bushes in injured condition, police said.

Why Varun Dhawan Feels English Movies Are Not His Cup Of Tea?

Bollywood actors doing English movies has become a trend lately. A lot of English movies in Bollywood has seen success and reached out to a new and different set of audiences.
Actor Varun Dhawan, who acted in Badlapur, says, doing Bollywood English films may alienate a certain section of fans and may not reach out to the complete Indian audiences. He was quoted as saying,
"I honestly don't know that. It might alienate a certain section of the audience and I don't know if I would do a film like that at this point. If I were to, it would have to be something really special for me. Also, there needs to be a need for English in the film, not just as a gimmick."
Aamir Khan, had made an English movie titled Delhi Belly starring Imran Khan, the movie was an absolute success. There is a seperate set of audiences for these kind of movies. The young, urban and hip set of people made Delhi Belly a hit.
The regular Bollywood fans, of course did not appreciate the movie as it was 'In your face' type of English films.
There is surely a big market for English films in India, the susccess of Delhi Belly, Finding Fanny, Rockford and The Namesake did really well and pulled the hip set of Indians to the theatres.
However, the problem arises that these movies do well only in limited areas, like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and so on, while the other cities don't show any box office collections at all.
Maybe, Varun Dhawan has a point here, as it surely alienates certain section of people and does not reach out to the overall audiences, thus not catering to his overall fan base in the country.

Yatchan Vs Strawberry: Weekend (First Three Days) Box Office Prediction

Out of many Tamil movies that released yesterday (September 11th), Yatchan andStrawberry were the most prominent ones due to various reasons. With many movies clashing against each other at the box office, it is truly fascinating to guesstimate the weekend collections of Yatchan and Strawberry.
Strawberry (U/A): Book Your Tickets Right Away!
While Yatchan had some expectations prior to its release, Strawberry had made its way quietly into cinema halls all over Tamil Nadu.
Interestingly, both these movies received moderate and mixed reviews from critics and fans respectively, making it hard to guess their box office success.
But based on the number of shows these movies had and the level of theatre occupancy Yatchan and Strawberry enjoyed on its first day, it can be safely said thatYatchan might've collected more than Strawberry on day one (Friday).
On Day two and three though, Yatchan might lose its way at the box office. But interestingly, that doesn't necessarily mean that Strawberry might do really well on Saturday and Sunday, according to trade experts.
Stiff competition from Jayam Ravi's Thani Oruvan and other new releases will make life difficult for Yatchan and Strawberry, our trade analysts have predicted.
