Savaale Samaali Plot:
Ashok Selvan works in a small-time TV channel headed by Karunas. As their channel is one among the worst when it comes to the TRP ratings, Ashok Selvan along with his friend, played by Jagan, come up with a plan to make their TV channel recognizable.
The device is to host a love reality show, which they hope would change their channel's fortunes. Will they be able to succeed in their mission?
The answer lies in the rest of the movie as director Sathyasiva has tried to expose the comical elements involved in TV shows.
Performances:
Ashok Selvan's attempt to try a full length comedy movie has backfired as the actor looks totally unconvincing when he tries to make his audience laugh.
Leading lady Bindu Madhavi gets limited screen space in which the actress has hardly expressed. In fact, she looks like a total misfit. Jagan's one liners have failed largely barring a couple of scenes where he has managed to evoke laughter genuinely.
The only comfort this movie gets in its performance department comes in the form of veteran performers like Nassar, MS Bhaskar and Oorvasi.
Technicalities:
ShelvaKumar's cinematography is on par when compared to some of the recently released Tamil films. His angles though are pretty straight forward.
Editor Ahamed could've easily trimmed many unwanted scenes which would've at least made the film shorter. Surprisingly, Thaman's background score too fails at many places.
Overall View:
Savaale Samaali's basic objective is to induce laughter. But unfortunately, the film fails to achieve that.
