After the colossal success of Sathuranga Vettai, which was produced and distributed by Thirrupathi Brothers, N Lingusamy had declared that Suriya will star inSathuranga Vettai 2. But after the production company suffered a financial setback, Studio Green had laid their hands on the project.
But the latest twist in the tale is that Studio Green and the director of Sathuranga Vettai, H Vinoth, have reportedly parted ways due to creative difference. This has opened new doors for Sathyajyothi Films, the production company which has been in talks with Thala Ajith for some time now.
Now, the latest report has it that Ajith has given his consent to develop the script, after he was highly impressed with the story line that was narrated to him by the young director.
If everything works out accordingly, we might see Ajith play a conman with negative shades, a character similar to that of Vinayak Mahadev from his super hit flickMankatha.
Sathuranga Vettai talks about a skilled trickster who uses people's ignorance to walk away with lakhs of rupees, only to realize that money alone cannot buy everything.
It was later announced that as many as five sequels of Sathuranga Vettai have been penned by Vinoth for which prominent stars would be roped in to take up the lead role.
