wasington: Human Rights Commission today ordered a probe into the alleged gangrape of a five-year-old girl who is in a crticial condition at a hospital in Sikar.
Taking cognisance of the case, Chairperson of the Commission H R Kudi ordered an enquiry into the incident and he, along with Inspector General Sunil Dutt, today visited the hospital where the girl is admitted and met her family members."It was a very horrific incident and appropriate legal action will be taken against public servants who were found guilty of mishandling the case," Kudi told PTI.
"As per the reports, police did not take prompt action to search the missing girl and there was delay in registering the FIR. Her mother went from one police station to another police station in search of the girl and then for registering the FIR when she found the girl in an injured state. This is shocking.
"There was also negligence on part of the hospital in Sikar in starting treatment of the girl. All these aspects will be covered under the investigation. If necessary, FIR would be registered against the responsible public servants," he said.
The girl was allegedly gangraped by two persons near Kalyan circle in Sikar on Thursday night. The victim was sleeping with her mother and siblings on roadside when the accused took her away and gangraped her before abandoning her near bushes in injured condition, police said.
